Susan Elza

Welcome to East Bernstadt Independent School, home of the Wildcats, where “It’s about the Future of Kids.”  Our mission is to “Educate all students and build lifelong learners who are inspired to be their best while striving for success.”  We serve grades preschool through eighth grade with currently a little over 500 students.  This is our seventh year in our new elementary building, and our middle school and library have been completely renovated.  We are extremely pleased with the new renovations!

All of our classrooms are equipped with interactive LED SmartBoards and devices so that students can access online programs.  Classrooms in grades 3rd-8th have chromebook carts in all the rooms while the Primary grades (K-1) through 2nd grade utilize iPads in their classrooms.  These devices assist each student with enhancing knowledge and content skills by using applications such as Google Classroom, Reading Eggs, I-READY, Reading Plus, IXL, Accelerated Reader, etc.  All students have the opportunity to interact with their respective technology throughout each school day.

The faculty and staff at East Bernstadt School are committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all students.  This is my first year as principal and twenty-second year in education.  I am honored and privileged to work with such a dedicated staff.  Every decision we make is to ensure success for each individual student.   As Principal, I welcome parent volunteers, and I encourage family and community involvement in our school.  By working together, we make East Bernstadt School a great place to learn!
