East Bernstadt Independent School

NTI Days and Spring Break

Important Message

East Bernstadt Students and Families,

East Bernstadt Independent is closing school beginning Monday, March 16,2020 and will not return until after May 1st, 2020, based upon the recommendation of the governor.  This means all extra-curricular activities such as ballgames and practices are also canceled. We always want to be cautious when it comes to the health and safety of our students.  We will continue to monitor the status of the COVID-19 in our community and keep you informed if any additional changes occur to our school schedule.

Our district will participate in the NTI Days (Non-Traditional Instructional Days) for March 16-27 and April 6-May 1, 2020.  For these weeks students will be completing schoolwork from home.  Teachers will be sending information  about these assignments and how to contact them should you have any questions.

During the NTI weeks, breakfast and lunch will be available to all students.  Our free meal program has been very successful, and we need everyone who can to participate so that we can be sure to continue with it.  If you can pick the meals up, breakfast will be available between 7:30 and 8:30.  However, you can pick up both breakfast and lunch between 10 and 12:30.   This will allow you to make only one trip to the school.  Meals should be picked up on the cafeteria side of the school.  If you can’t come to the school and still want to get the meals, please call the East Bernstadt FRYSC (Family Resource Youth Service Center) at 843-6713 to arrange for delivery.  Also, if additional kids are with our students, they can receive meals if they are 18 or younger.  They do not have to be students here.

Please visit our website frequently for updated information about our school and any schedule changes.  If you do not receive our One Call Now phone messages or Remind App notifications, you may call the school office to be added to the list.

The FRYSC and school personnel will be available during March 16th-27th and April 6th-May 1st from 8:00 am. to 3:00 pm. Feel free to call if we can assist you in any way.
